Soft and luxurious, velvet can nonetheless be difficult to work with. The professionals have ways to ease the pain and Leslie Mayfarth is here to let us in on their secrets.
We will make a scarf or small drawstring bag while learning to stitch it up. And once our seams and casings are perfect, we'll embellish with rubber stamp presses.
Topics covered include:

direction of nap on a garment
interfacing, pros and cons
pockets, zippers, piping
pressing and pressing equipment

nap to nap vs back to back
chalking out pattern pieces
scissors vs rotary cutters
