Small Business Saturday has made its way into the fabric of America's national holiday
shopping season. This year's Small Business Saturday falls on November 28th. Since
2010 this day has been promoting small, local businesses around the country. Shopping
locally keeps more of our dollars in our community working for us. According to
the Institute for Local Self Reliance:
Each dollar you spend at an independent business returns an average of 3 times more
money to your community than spending at a chain.

Looking for gift ideas? Ice dying is the hot trend these days. Simple to do with
spectacular results. We have the ingredients for a beautiful, one-of-a-kind, hand-dyed
silk scarf with day-long demos scheduled for Saturday, November 14th and Saturday,
November 28th.

Also on the 28th we will have Suzanne of the Silk Painters Guild with a
hands-on-demonstration. Stop by to see and try out this technique that transforms
plain cloth into art, 11am - 1pm.

Our apron contest was even bigger and better than ever! We had so many entries
we had to make two categories with Nikki winning for creative craftsmanship and
Margaret for artistic expression. Thank you to all our participants, Leslie
for judging and Helen for putting it all together.
