Two big holiday events coming up -- first we have Small Business Saturday on 
November 26th.  This is the day to support the small businesses that fuel our 
economy and invigorate communities.  Nob Hill Fabrics will offer a selection

We have three new classes coming up just in time for holiday gift making --
Linda (of "Ribbonwork" fame) will teach us how to make a simple purse and 
Melissa Lea has two jewelry classes.

Velvet is a beautiful fabric and makes wonderful holiday wear but can be
tricky to work with.  We would like to present a two-hour workshop to

"Purse in a Day"

This is a simple bag constructed from two squares of complimenting fabrics.

"All Ears"

Melissa Lea, Jewelry Designer and President of the Albuquerque Apparel Center
will teach the basics and more to make two styles of earrings for any
occasion.  Great as gifts or to keep.  This is a wonderful class for those
new to jewelry making and anyone looking for an easy, fun, relaxing project.

You will learn to construct two styles: single dangle and jointed/multi-dangle,
as well as two different wire techniques.

Bring your own beads or purchase beads at the class.  Sterling silver 
earwire and headpins to assemble 2 sets of earrings will be provided.

You will need to bring round nose and chain nose pliers which can be 
purchased at any local bead shop for around $5.  A bead board would be
helpful and can also be found for about $6.  A few extra pairs of pliers
are available on a first come, first served basis.

"The Lariat"

Dates:  Wednesday, December 7th, 10:00-1:00

Unlike a traditional necklace, a lariat does not have a clasp.  A lariat is
actually one long strand that can be tied or wrapped in a number of ways to create 
a variety of looks.  Join Melissa Lea, Jewelry Designer and President of the
Albuquerque Apparel Center to learn how to make it and how to wear it!!

The first project will be designing a single strand lariat in a length of
your choice using stainless steel wire.  

Kits will be provided with all needed materials for this class.

"Basic Sewing Class"

Date:  Sunday afternoons

Advanced sign up required.

This class is designed to teach:

    * anatomy, use and care of your machine
    * terms and tools
    * how to read, mark and cut a pattern
    * how to assemble a basic garment

Sewing machines are not provided.

Limited to 5 students.  This is an individualized lesson to get a beginner started.
We provide an easy-to-make apron pattern or you can bring your own idea or
project.
