We have two fiber art events coming in March to coincide with the 12th annual
"Women & Creativity", a month-long series that celebrates women's creativity
across the disciplines.

"Living Artifact Project 2017"
A "Living Artifact" is artwork created in response to a question, prompt or
person. It is housed in a container that may be easily moved to various locations.
Any forms of art may be included and each piece is a journey that brings the
designer through layers of contemplation and invites the viewer on that journey.
Seventeen of these artifacts are traveling around the Albuquerque area during
the month and we will have one on display here at Nob Hill Fabrics, March 10th and
11th. On Wednesday, March 29th, all artists and workshop participants come together
for a collective reception, 6pm-8pm, at Tortuga Gallery, 901 Edith Blvd SE.

"Apronista Collective: Exhibition Discussion"

The Apronista Collective shares artfully-made and mixed-media aprons which were
carried banner style at the Women's March on the Civic Plaza in Albuquerque on
January 21, 2017. The Albuquerque-based Apronista Collective has been using aprons
as their canvas to speak-out on women’s issues and social justice for several years
including installations in the past at the National Hispanic Cultural Center and
various locations in downtown Albuquerque. Join the artists for a discussion
about their work and influences, Thursday, March 16th, 6:00pm - 7:30pm at the
New Mexico Humanities Council, 4115 Silver Ave SE. The exhibition space is
open Monday through Friday, 9am - 4pm and the show runs through April 21. Call
505-633-7370 for more information.
