Our Pants Workshop Indiegogo fund raising campaign is off and running!!!!
The cost of Linda Lee's workshop is $250 w/a $150 non-refundable deposit.
Current contributions have already reduced the cost by $10 per student and
the first $1200 raised will bring the total down to just the deposit with the
rest of the monies going to stocking the shelves with exquisite fabrics. There
are 12 seats and 8 are filled!

A comment was recently posted on Facebook regarding our fund raising efforts:
There must be a tailor or seamstress right here in ABQ that can teach this
stuff. Perhaps rotating classes... I'm sure people can be found.

Our response:
Actually, we have been looking for two years and although we have some
amazing seamstresses and teachers, none of them stepped forward to teach
pants fitting and construction. In fact, one of our local award winning,
professional seamstresses has expressed interest in taking this class.
Linda Lee has developed superior patterns and teaching methods for the
sole purpose of fitting and constructing pants. Her reputation is outstanding
and we have had inquiries from out-of-state after seeing our class listed on
her calendar. This is truly a worthwhile opportunity and we hope to engage
   the community for support.

Please encourage friends and family to support our worthy cause and get good
stuff :-).

In addition to the Pants Workshop, Linda is doing a trunk show Friday evening!

Age is nothing but a number when it comes to looking fabulous. And no
one does it better than The Sewing Workshop Pattern Collection. From
beautiful fabrics to stunning colors, this showcase of handmade garments
will challenge you to rethink how you dress and what you want to sew.
The Sewing Workshop is known for its carefree chic combinations of daring
fabrics, textures and patterns in layers of drape and shape. Linda will
interpret how to read the trends of the moment and fit those concepts into
making real clothes for you. You will leave knowing a lot more about fabrics,
where to buy the good ones, how to work with them in unique ways and how to
blend them into your wardrobe, eventually building a core wardrobe of quiet
confidence with the add-ons that have plenty of personality.

Saturday, April 20th, 9:30-12:30. "Fitting Solutions"

3-hour session by Leslie Ashcraft cost - $45 class size limited to 6

Are you tired of buying pattern after pattern, searching for "the one" that actually
fits? Or, have you stopped sewing for yourself entirely because your garments gap
open at the center front or hang like muumuus? This fitting class has been created
exclusively to help women identify what has changed about their maturing female
forms and how those changes are reflected in the fit of their garments. (For this
session, we will concentrate mainly on the female form from the waist up.) After
this class, you will know what has been causing your fitting disasters and what
pattern alterations are necessary to prevent any more.

Supply list:

Sewing machine, thread, pins, scissors and cloth tape measure.

4 yards of 45" or 60" white muslin fabric, an indelible sharpie marker, a quilter’s
straightedge and a jacket pattern of your choice.  (Be realistic about your size;
alterations are easier if you're somewhat close. Keep in mind that for purposes of
creating a well-fitting, structured jacket, darting and princess lines are your

NOTE: If you plan to take the next "Jackets" class, please use Butterick 5687:
