Pants Fitting

USING BURDA PATTERN #6982, student will learn the basic concepts of fitting
slacks to properly fit their unique body. These concepts can be applied to other
slacks designs and patterns. Choice of fabric will be discussed.

SESSON 1: (3-4 hrs?) April 29th, 10am - 2pm
Student will need to bring the pattern, at least 3 yards of solid-color muslin,
sewing thread, paper and pen for taking notes, sharp shears, sharp glass-head pins,
and a measuring tape. Student should wear the type of underwear she usually wears
under slacks. Each student’s measurements will be taken, and she will be taught to
apply those measurements to the pattern. If time allows, the muslin will be cut and
the slacks basted together for fitting.

Cut and baste together the muslin “mock-up” slacks if not already done.
Purchase fabric and notions; wash or dry clean fabric in the manner the
completed slacks will be treated.
Cut out slacks and baste together. DO NOT ATTACH THE WAISTBAND.

SESSION II: May 6th, 10am - 2pm
The fit of the basted slacks will be fine-tuned, and the slacks will be completed.

Contact Sarah ( to register.
Limit: 4 students per class.
