Hi,

Summerfest was bigger and better than we anticipated.  A big "thank you" to
Mildred and Suzanne of the New Mexico Silk Painters Guild.  Their display
was amazing and everyone (especially myself) had fun contributing to the
demo scarf.

Fall Into the Stars Teen Fashion Show

This weekend, the Designer’s Lounge is proud to host Albuquerque’s first Teens 
for Teens Fashion Show! On August 5, 2011, six designer’s, between the ages of 
15 and 18, will be designing and making their ENTIRE collections from start to 
finish in hopes to raise money for a non-profit organization that supports 
Albuquerque’s youth, Warehouse 508, located in downtown Albuquerque.

*  Our fall/winter collection is starting to come in.  So far a couple
   of incredible stretch pinwale corduroys and some natural fiber jersey 
   knits, including a bamboo/hemp blend very suitable for dying.

*  More is coming soon -- another buying trip this weekend so stop by
   next week to see what we found.

Not much scheduled at the moment, but we're working on a costuming series for
Halloween and more "Tricks of the Trade."  We also have teachers available for
private and semi-private lessons scheduled at your convenience.  Call for more

Basic Apron Class

This class is designed to teach:

    * anatomy, use and care of your machine
    * terms and tools
    * how to read, mark and cut a pattern
    * how to assemble a basic garment

Sewing machines are not provided.

Limited to 5 students.  We have had many requests for this class, please sign up early.

We can do this class anytime August 20th or late afternoon on the 21st.  Let us 
know which you prefer.
        
Cost:  $30, pattern included, $5 non-refundable reservation to be paid at Nob Hill Fabrics.
10% discount on all materials purchased at Nob Hill Fabrics.
Please purchase any fabrics requiring pre-washing in advance.
